Summary
TSW Transition technician will work directly with TSW students to assist them in acquiring the skills needed to complete a successful school-to-work transition. The technician will assist in recruiting potential students, gathering documents, and meeting with parents to assist in Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) eligibility application process. Under the supervision of the Teacher Coordinator, the technician will implement a system to disseminate TSW information to potential employers, analyze work sites to match with TSW students, collect data as necessary to document students' progress on the job, maintain an accurate case file for students, and complete assessments with students to find strengths and weaknesses. The technician will participate in IEP team meetings and complete appropriate assessments for each student.
Essential Functions
- Assess all IEP students w/ age and intellectually appropriate assessments; i.e. PICS, AzCIS, Naviance, Youthhood, IDEAS, District Career Inventories
- Look for outside agency resources/referrals for students if applicable, i.e. RSA (Vocational Rehabilitation) / DDD/ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care)
- Assist parents who are interested in Guardianship Forms
- Assist parents who are interested in Keeping Educational Rights (age 18+) with appropriate forms
- Assist with preparing students with any testing associated with transition goals (i.e. ACT; ASVAB; etc.)
- Knowledgeable of enrollment requirements for FUSD programs like CAVIT and Culinary and ASSIST students in the enrollment process
- Organize a Work bridge program for students who are ready for a Job Shadow Experience
- Attend Consortium and Transition meetings
- Organize Field Trips to Job Fairs w/ students (seniors especially), Arizona Construction and Career Days, Colleges, etc.
- Assist students with Job Readiness Skills and Transition Binders to include items such as Job Applications, Resumes, etc.
- Become familiar with/ foundation scholarships such as "Promise to the Future", Trio Program, FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), Early College / First Step Program (earn up to 5 credits/semester tuition FREE . . . books excluded), Title I, and WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act)
- Complete yearly reports for AzPSO (Arizona Post School Outcomes)
- PSO and Summary of Performance for all graduating seniors
- Share with parents the LIVEBINDERS link a College, Career, and Govt. resource for ALL
- Implement the PAES lab and Money Manager with fidelity
- Keep a detailed inventory list for the TSW Program (Printing Pro's, San Tan Savers, and CONNECT)
- Complete quarterly Report for TSW student services

Working Environment:

Terms of Employment
Salary placement on Grade E of the Governing Board approved salary schedule
8 hours per day, 182 work days plus 7 paid holidays per year.
