SUMMARY

The Clinical Intake Coordinator assists the Clinical Admissions Director in reviewing referrals for the IRTS programs. This position provides clinical oversight for referrals and is responsible for assistance with outreach and coordination with community-based behavioral hospitals, community members, local hospitals, service-users and other key stakeholders. The Clinical Intake Coordinator also assists with monitoring and meeting with individuals with high substance use after admission and meeting with Chemical Health Supervisor on R20 admissions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.  

  • Assist with oversight on central intake coordinator and admissions process
  • Review referrals to ensure criteria is met for IRTS
  • Complete outreach and collaboration with social workers, hospitals, community members, and jails
  • Coordinate with Chemical Health Supervisor on R20 admissions and outcomes
  • Track patterns of referrals and admissions using Mission Driven Data and Credible Data Entry
  • Complete quarterly MHIS Batch Uploading
  • Assist with completing quarterly DHS innovation grant meetings to discuss goals, progress and challenges
  • Support resource navigators and directors with reviewing and placing admissions
  • Screen referrals as needed and cover when navigators are out for faster and more effective placement
  • Assist with insurance authorizations and monitor authorization trackers for all sites
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required for the Job

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology services or related fields and or a certification in addiction counseling (may be a clinical trainee)
  • Minimum 1-2 years working in SUD/MH facilities

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license from state of residence

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with a team
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to coordinate with referents
  • Knowledge in completing and submitting insurance authorizations

 

Other Requirements:

  • Travel as needed

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Light work.  Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Pay Rate: $80,000-90,000
