Job Description
IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.
Independently determine and perform the corrective action necessary for continued operation of electro-mechanical equipment, machinery, systems, controls, circuits and associated devices including, but not limited to: radio controls, lasers, vibration, environmental, vacuum, welding, processing, production, microelectronics and wafer fabrication, microprocessor/computer controlled systems, and machine tools, with associated peripherals.
Rework, service, maintain, modify, troubleshoot and repair industrial electro-mechanical equipment, systems, controls, circuits and associated devices with or without prints and schematics. Use all necessary tools, test equipment and instruments, machinery, software patches and diagnostics to facilitate operational status. Provide missing design details, and/or make changes in design and/or develop and fabricate such devices subject to approval, where the units do not meet functional demands, or where changes will facilitate the performance or maintenance of such units. Work with other crafts, engineers, vendors and others to assist in design correction and operational inequities of industrial electro-mechanical systems as required. May be required to operate the automated controls and manufacturing process facilities and equipment to locate trouble and to check out repairs. Work with, or assist, maintenance craftsmen in other fields of specialization when so assigned. May be required to work above/belowground levels, and must work within safety guidelines, as established by the Company.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance.
Basic Qualifications
• Complete knowledge of shop theory, practices and procedures necessary to perform the duties described above.
• Must have successfully completed required training as an Electro-Mechanical Technician - Trainee.
• Must possess a valid State of California Class C driver's license, if required.
• Must possess, or obtain within 90 days, all LMMS-issued safety licenses required by law to operate material handling equipment and vehicles normally used by employees in this classification.
Desired skills
• Electronics knowledge - (AC/DC, analog and digital), identify and troubleshoot circuit cards down to component level. Knowledge of logic ladders, Boolean logic/diagrams.
• Strong working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) including troubleshooting, parameter setup, and fault diagnostics.
• Experience with overhead crane electrical systems, including hoists, trolleys, bridge travel, and limit switches.
• Familiarity with radio control systems (pendant and wireless crane controls), including programming and troubleshooting.
• Mechanical aptitude for working on gearboxes, couplings, bearings, and wire rope systems.
• Certification or ability to obtain certification in operating of forklifts (sit down and stand behind), scissor lifts, PALD's.
• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Premium Pay Statement
The base range for this position in California is $31.80 - $59.75.
