Trafficade information

What is a Trafficade job?

A Trafficade job typically involves setting up, maintaining, and removing traffic control devices such as barricades, signs, and cones to ensure public and worker safety in construction or roadwork zones. Workers may also assist with lane closures, flagging, and equipment transportation. The role requires physical labor, knowledge of traffic control regulations, and attention to safety protocols.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Trafficade position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Trafficade, you need a solid understanding of traffic control procedures, safety regulations, and the ability to read and interpret traffic management plans, often requiring a valid driver’s license and specific safety training or certifications. Familiarity with standard traffic control devices, signage, barricades, and communication radios is commonly expected in the role. Attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication skills are vital for success in this position. These abilities ensure safe and efficient flow of vehicles and pedestrians around construction or event sites, minimizing hazards and disruptions.

What are the typical working conditions and physical demands associated with a Trafficade position?

Trafficade roles often involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions, sometimes for extended periods of time. Job duties may require standing, walking, lifting and placing signs or barricades, and wearing personal protective equipment throughout the shift. As a Trafficade, you typically work as part of a crew, coordinating closely with other traffic control personnel, construction teams, and sometimes law enforcement to ensure job site safety. Flexibility with hours, including nights or weekends, may also be necessary depending on project needs. These physical and collaborative demands are important for maintaining safe and orderly work zones.
