Production Scheduler
Hours 7:00AM - 4:00PM
Salary: $70,000K-$80,000K
The Production Scheduler is responsible for balancing available capacity and demand. They will work closely with the value stream leader to understand and efficiently utilize resources. The successful candidate will be required to maintain, clearly communicate, and report on an accurate production plan. In addition, they must work effectively with the team leaders to ensure that customer expectations are met.
Key Responsibilities
• Comprehend how resource planning affects lead times and schedule accordingly
• Coordinate expediting requirements (parts, plates, drawings, etc.)
• Monitor work centers for progress to the plan
• Proactively identify and provide solutions for capacity constraints; make suggestions on how to assign resources and prioritize projects in order to meet the planned milestones for each project
• Ensure projects are manufactured in a logical sequence and in accordance to the planned due date
• Accurately maintain information in Baan as it relates to production orders and purchase orders
• Effectively manage production order release, material shortages, and stocking of finished goods
Qualifications
• Knowledge of finite scheduling principles and their application to an engineer-to-order environment
• Strong decision-making skills, coupled with ability to both lead and communicate with confidence
• Solid computer skills, including experience with MRP systems like (Baan) and advanced Excel skills
• Ability to comprehend the impacts of manufacturer versus buy purchase (make vs. buy) principles
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams, across campuses
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to effectively handle a high volume of orders daily
• Ability to adjust to change and flex work style frequently
• Strong presentation and verbal/written communication skills
• Experience in inventory management
