A guest-focused Recreation Attendant who brings energy, safety awareness, and a spirit of fun to our pools, beaches, fitness areas, and resort activities. You'll be the friendly face that welcomes guests to our recreation spaces, supports daily programming, manages equipment and cabanas, and ensures every experience is seamless, engaging, and safe. From sunrise yoga setups to family games by the pool, you'll help create memorable moments that keep guests returning year after year.

What You'll Do:

  • Greet guests at pools, beach areas, fitness centers, and recreation desks; provide information on amenities, hours, and programming.

  • Host and support daily activities (e.g., fitness classes, lawn games, children's crafts, movie nights, seasonal events).

  • Create a warm, friendly atmosphere while maintaining Loews' understated elegance and brand standards.

  • Assist with cabana and chair reservations; escort guests to assigned locations and provide setup (towels, water, amenities).

  • Anticipate guest needs; resolve concerns efficiently or escalate to the Recreation Manager when appropriate.

  • Monitor recreation areas to ensure safety, capacity, and cleanliness; enforce property rules and local regulations.

  • Set up, inspect, and break down daily equipment (e.g., umbrellas, lounge chairs, game sets, fitness accessories).

  • Conduct regular walk-throughs for hazards; respond to spills, weather changes, and other conditions promptly.

  • Support incident response and emergency procedures; call for assistance as needed (Security, Engineering, Medical).

  • If certified, provide basic first aid within scope of training and assist lifeguard staff during emergencies.

  • Maintain inventory of towels, supplies, recreation equipment; track usage and report loss/damage.

  • Prepare activity spaces according to schedule and planograms/diagrams; maintain visual order and brand cohesion.

  • Process cabana, activity, and rental transactions (where applicable); handle cashless payments per policy.

  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Engineering for cleanliness and maintenance needs; submit and follow up on work orders.

  • Support seasonal programming rollouts, holiday events, and special activations in partnership with Marketing/Events.

  • Share guest feedback and participation trends with the Recreation Manager to enhance programming.

  • Communicate clearly with front desk, concierge, and food & beverage teams to align on guest requests and service timing.

  • Attend meetings and training sessions; maintain up-to-date knowledge of offerings, promotions, and safety procedures.

  • Shuttle guests by golf cart around property, including Silver Strand Beach Hut. Requires Valid Driver's License.

Other Responsibilities

  • Preserve the livelihood and reputation of recreation outlets by complying with legal policies and requirements.

  • Regularly lift 45 pounds; reach, bend, crouch, kneel, push, pull, and walk; stand for several hours at a time.

  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.

  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.

  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications Include:

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred; recreation, fitness, or resort experience a plus.

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire); Lifeguard certification a plus depending on property needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; confident facilitating small groups and family activities.

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel) and point-of-sale systems; comfort with scheduling tools.

  • Reliable, organized, and proactive with a collaborative mindset.

  • Knowledge of local attractions and outdoor/recreation practices; comfort working in outdoor environments.

  • Multilingual abilities are a plus.
