Job Title: Patient Service Representative

Location: WellMed at Austin (South) –1901 W WILLIAM CANNON DR 112 Austin, TX, USA, 78745
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Type: Temporary (09/2025- 12/2025)

Position Overview:

WellMed at Austin is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our dynamic team. This temporary position plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive prompt and accurate appointment scheduling through both inbound and outbound calls. The representative will deliver exceptional customer service while supporting a variety of front desk operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurately collect and verify patient demographic information, including full name, date of birth, and insurance details

  • Schedule and confirm appointments using internal scheduling systems

  • Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures as needed

  • Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations

  • Collaborate with a team of six call center staff to manage a high volume of calls

  • Provide support with clerical duties and assist with tasks assigned by the supervisor

  • Respond to patient inquiries promptly, professionally, and courteously

  • Record all patient interactions accurately and in a timely manner in the system

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Prior experience in healthcare, clerical work, or data entry is strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus

  • Experience working in a healthcare call center or front desk setting is highly desirable
