Job description

Job Title: Operator Trainee
Job Description

As an Operator Trainee, you will be paired with an experienced operator to learn the operation of our state-of-the-art equipment. Your role involves the operation of a machine that runs string through solar cells and solders them together for solar panel frames. You will be expected to enhance your production skills and exceed the current workforce's output as you become more experienced.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the supply of thread in the system to ensure it does not run out during operation.
  • Visually inspect products after cells are strung together to determine quality.
  • Operate the machine, which includes monitoring quality checks displayed on a 50-inch monitor.
  • Set aside products that do not pass quality inspection for repair.
  • Perform general cleaning every two hours by stopping the machine for 30 minutes.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in production, general labor, machine operation, and general production.
  • Manufacturing experience, preferably as a machine operator or CNC operator.
  • Ability to train on running the operator machine.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude during interviews.
  • A commitment to quality and pride in work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating CNC or computer-controlled machines is beneficial.

Work Environment

Our large manufacturing facility is brand new and very clean, with state-of-the-art and highly automated equipment. Due to the involvement of solar cells, candidates must wear hair nets and beard nets if they have facial hair. The facility requires closed-toe shoes. The schedule follows a 3,2,2,3 format, offering the flexibility to work additional shifts for more hours. Day shifts run from 6 am to 6:15 pm, and night shifts from 6 pm to 6:15 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookshire, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
