Solar Construction Manager (Utility-Scale Projects)

Location: Candidates can live anywhere, open to candidates across the U.S. — 100% travel required

Employment Type: Long-term contract-to-hire

Salary: $90-95,000 + daily per diem

Travel Perks: 100% of All flights, hotels, and rental truck are prepaid; in addition to a daily food per diem of $80 for up to 7 days a week

About the Role

Join a leading solar tracking manufacturer and installation firm as a Solar Construction Manager, where you'll serve as a subject matter expert overseeing and/or instructing subcontracting construction companies in the installation of large-scale solar tracker systems across the country. This is a high-impact role for professionals with hands-on experience in utility-scale solar construction and a passion for delivering quality and safety.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring timely and high-quality installations of solar tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, electricians, and labor crews to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and maintain safety compliance.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to support installation workflows.
  • Conduct and document safety meetings in alignment with OSHA standards.
  • Support project planning including material takeoffs, sequencing, and subcontractor scope reviews.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Provide technical guidance on electrical and mechanical components to field teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in utility-scale solar construction, with 2+ years in a leadership role (Superintendent, Construction Manager, Owner Rep, or QC Manager).
  • Strong understanding of solar tracker systems - hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction reporting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and construction math skills.
  • Proven leadership and client relationship management.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide up to 100% of the time.
