Job description


Job Summary
We are seeking a Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems. This role requires technical expertise, physical capability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality inspections that meet customer expectations and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems, including SimplexGrinnell and competitive product lines.
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to ensure proper system functionality.
  3. Identify opportunities for additional products or services to meet customer needs.
  4. Utilize hand tools and low-voltage devices to operate and maintain equipment.
  5. Follow structured inspection schedules and complete service requests with proper coding.
  6. Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation using laptop-based programs.
  7. Perform cleanup duties at workstations and maintain equipment in operational condition.
  8. Carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
  9. Work safely on lifts and ladders while adhering to safety protocols.
  10. Meet deadlines by completing assigned inspections on time.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. CSA license.
  3. Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  4. Proficiency with hand tools and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  5. Ability to carry and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
  6. Capability to work on lifts and ladders.
  7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred Qualifications (if any)
  1. NICET certification.
  2. Prior experience with fire alarm and sprinkler inspection.

Certifications (if any)
  1. CSA license required.
  2. NICET certification preferred but not required.
