Job Summary Th e Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Inspector is responsible for performing routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems, including SimplexGrinnell product lines and similar competitive systems. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, meets customer expectations, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Inspectors must be able to work with hand tools, lifts, and ladders, while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to inspection schedules. Key Responsibilities R ead and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems Identify additional services that could benefit customers Utilize technical resources to ensure efficient execution of tasks Work with low voltage devices for system operation Complete service requests with proper coding and maintain structured inspection schedules Input and archive documentation via laptop systems Communicate effectively with customers and supervisors regarding inspection progress and facility needs Maintain safety standards and report unsafe practices or conditi ons Required Skills and Experience E xperience in reading blueprints and specifications Proficiency with hand tools Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs Ability to work on lifts and ladders Strong communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications NICET certification preferred but not required Experience supporting utility construction and maintenance environments Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent experience Education: Associate's Degree
