Job description

Within our retail locations, District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cultivate a culture of excellence by modeling values, demonstrating authentic care, and supporting pharmacy teams across the district. Responsibilities Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled. Act as the Pharmacy Manager's proxy during bench shifts without overlap. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Assume day‐to‐day Pharmacy Manager duties when serving as the sole or primary pharmacist‐on‐duty. Provide empathy, genuine care, and coaching to the pharmacy team, fostering positive patient experiences. Offer and deliver immunizations, supporting Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, guiding the team to follow best practices and protecting cold‐chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling, while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continuing medical education, and seek opportunities to expand knowledge. Deliver pharmacist‐delivered clinical care, including testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible. Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing and record‐keeping. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within designated timeframes. Stay focused and pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Demonstrate friendly customer service and team orientation. Use effective verbal and written communication; practice active listening. Apply mathematical reasoning to determine dosage, supply, and dispensing quantities. Resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions by selecting optimal solutions. Physical Demands Mobile and upright for extended periods; lift up to 20 lbs and perform repetitive finger tasks; reach overhead and places items in low and high locations; maintain visual acuity for small part inspections; communicate effectively via spoken word. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings. Compensation&Benefits Pay Range: $60.00–$76.00 per hour, based on experience, education, and geography. Eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‐term incentive programs.
