Job description

OUTBOUND HANDLER -TEMPORARY POSITION
Position Summary:
Coordinate and perform preparations for all outbound freight with all NOLA DC departments. palletizing freight and transporting freight by Motorized Equipment.
Pay Rate: Outbound Handler I $13 per hour
Outbound Handler II $14 per hour (This position operates a lift)
Schedule:
7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday (40 hours per week standard)
Frequently required overtime to include Saturdays.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
Driving Responsibilities
  • Compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including driver logs, drug testing etc.
  • Operate Motorized equipment throughout Distribution Center (DC).
  • Acquire certification to operate Motorized equipment within 60-days of employment (Based on position requirements.
  • Safely store and organize empty pallets.
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information in a professional setting, also respond to questions from managers, co-workers, team members, internal and external customers.
Outbound Responsibilities
  • Pull freight for shipments using motorized equipment and handheld RF Scanner.
  • Safely/Properly Load Trailers
  • Palletize and stage cartons.
  • Cross-train to prepare shipping documents (Bills of Lading and Manifests) based on customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant Work Experience
  • Three or more years Motorized equipment operation experience preferred.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ensure accuracy of item description and counts for all outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure accurate completion and submission of weekly inventory of all shipping boxes.
  • Work closely with QC department on quality control of all outbound shipments.
  • Ensures outbound area is safe and clean.
  • Will physically assist in loading and unloading of the trucks as needed.
  • Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.
  • Assist in other departments as required and assigned.
