Job Description

We are seeking a Desktop Technician to join our IT support team. This role is responsible for the imaging, deployment, and support of desktop and laptop systems across a large, distributed enterprise environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring reliable technology operations for 300+ travel centers and over 5,000 devices nationwide. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with strong technical troubleshooting skills and a customer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, image, stage, and deploy desktops and laptops (Windows 10/11 environments)
  • Configure and ship devices (PCs, printers, and peripherals) to field locations across the U.S.
  • Provide Tier II/III support for end-user hardware, software, and system issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Windows OS, Office 365, and business applications
  • Manage device lifecycle: implementation, upgrades, break/fix, and replacements
  • Maintain and update asset inventory and device tracking
  • Utilize tools such as SCCM, ServiceNow, remote support software (e.g., Bomgar), and VPN/MFA solutions
  • Support imaging and deployment processes using tools such as SCCM, Clonezilla, or similar technologies
  • Execute and support Windows 11 upgrade initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve escalated technical issues
  • Respond to support tickets promptly while meeting SLAs

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of desktop / PC support experience in a Windows environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Windows 10/11
    • Active Directory
    • Office 365
    • SCCM or similar deployment tools
  • Experience imaging, staging, and deploying devices at scale
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Experience with remote support tools and VPN/MFA solutions (Cisco preferred)
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell or similar) is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large enterprise environments (5,000+ devices)
  • Exposure to tools such as IBM BigFix, Clonezilla, or similar
  • Relevant certifications (A+, Network+, Security+) are a plus
  • Experience in desktop engineering or large-scale deployments

Work Environment

  • On-site role in Knoxville IT Center (office/warehouse setting)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

This is a Contract position based out of Knoxville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
