Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

As a Production Associate, you will play a vital role in packaging and preparing hay and hay-based products for shipment. You will ensure all products meet quality and weight standards while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and positive production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Package hay-based products to meet defined quality and weight specifications.
  • Operate packaging and production line equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set up, adjust, and monitor machines to support continuous production.
  • Follow all safety and food safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain production rates and support line changes as needed to meet output goals.
  • Assist with general production tasks such as loading, picking, packing, and assembly line work.
  • Use forklifts or pallet jacks, if trained, to move materials and finished products.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical or equipment issues during production.
  • Communicate equipment or process issues promptly to supervisors or leads.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in general production or as a general production worker.
  • Previous production or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn machine setup and operation.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs (and up to 100 lbs for bulk products), including overhead lifting.
  • Comfort working on your feet for long periods in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in dusty environments and around hay and related materials.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions in English.
  • Experience with forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow safety and food safety procedures.

Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented production facility focused on safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The environment includes regular exposure to hay, dust, and varying temperatures, so comfort working in these conditions is important. Leadership emphasizes support and open communication, creating a culture where your feedback and ideas matter. Shifts are structured as follows: 1st Shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Fridays as needed; 2nd Shift runs Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, with Fridays as needed. The dress code includes high-visibility apparel, closed-toe shoes, and safety glasses (all safety gear provided except shoes). Work clothing should be practical and safe, such as sweatpants and shirts with sleeves, with no piercings or jewelry worn on the production floor.

The pay range for this position is $18.34 - $19.34/hr.
