About this opportunity:

Cenovus Toledo Refinery is now looking to hire multiple Electricians that will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems and equipment such as motors, switchgear, transformers, wiring and alarm systems. An understanding of the risk and confidence to work on high voltage (35KV) situations is a must for this position.

The duties for this role will be performed in an outdoor process facility under the direction of the Maintenance Department. This position will be expected to document troubleshooting and repair efforts, upload documents and data into CMMS and other databases, perform field walkdowns for scope review, planning support and point of work risk assessments. The Electrician is also responsible for callouts for electrical systems and must be willing to work overtime as needed.

What you'll do:

  • Calibrate, test, troubleshoot and install low and medium voltage (up to 15,000 volts) electrical and control equipment; as well as performing other preventative/predicative maintenance and inspections on equipment

  • Read and interpret Schematic Drawings, Wiring and Interconnect Diagrams, One-Lineand Three Line Diagrams, Loop Drawings, Logic Diagrams and Symbols

  • Calculating mathematical problems required to successfully complete assigned tasks

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems 120 volts through 15,000 volts including motors, transformers, circuit breakers, controls, etc.

  • Perform switching on 138,000 volt systems

Who you are:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Journeyman Electrician Card, or 5+ years industrial Electrician experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field with 3+ years of industrial Electrician experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 1+ years of industrial Electrician experience required

  • Must demonstrate knowledge in the following areas: OHM'S Law, electrical calculations, operation of electromechanical and solid-state devices, ladder logic schematics, single line diagrams, PLC's, use of VOM/DVOM, Ammeter, Megger, Hypot, cable/motor testing equipment

  • Ability to effectively read electrical drawings and schematics

  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts, and temporary off-shifts that may include weekends, holidays and overtime

  • Ability to work at heights

  • Perform physically active job tasks, involving year-round outdoor work in all types of weather
