Summary:
Oxford’s client just got new boards back and are starting the development from scratch. As the only software developer, you will develop and customize BSPs, do Linux Kernel configuration, U-Boot updates, and hardware bring up. Experience doing driver development would be a plus.
They are looking for a Linux engineer to load the bios and OS, then get the communications going between the host and the server. The BIOS is currently running windows as they wanted to verify the functionality.
The target is an NXP i.MX95. They are integrating and validating PCIe, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet (working with high data rates – i.e., fiber/PCIe/Gigabits/s). They will be working with Yocto/OpenEmbedded to build and maintain, and optimize the Linux distributions.
This is a small team, and the consultant will function as the sole software engineer. Candidates will need to be self starters, operate without a lot of hand holding, and be willing to raise their hands when they need help.
Required Skills:
- Embedded Linux Development (Kernel, Drivers, system level debugging)
- i.MX95 preferred
- Yocto/OpenEmbedded
- Firmware
- BSP/HAL
- C/C++
- Bootloaders
- Documentation
Pluses:
- Secure boot
- Python/Bash
- Safety Critical/Defense/Avionics/Automotive/Medical Experience
