Job description

Molecular Biologist New Haven, Connecticut Advance Breakthrough Science and Therapeutic Innovation We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Molecular Biologist to join our growing research team in New Haven, CT. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focused on understanding complex biological systems, disease mechanisms, and the development of next-generation therapeutic strategies. The ideal candidate is a hands-on scientist with a strong foundation in molecular biology techniques, genomic analysis, and experimental design. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers while utilizing state-of-the-art technologies, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), to drive scientific discovery and innovation. Key Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and execute experiments investigating gene expression, protein function, and cellular pathways.
  • Perform molecular biology techniques including:
    • PCR, RT-PCR, and qPCR
    • Molecular cloning
    • DNA/RNA extraction and purification
    • Restriction enzyme digestion
    • Gel electrophoresis
    • cDNA synthesis and library preparation
  • Conduct and support Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows, including sample preparation, sequencing analysis, and interpretation of genomic data.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present complex experimental results using statistical and bioinformatics tools.
  • Troubleshoot experimental challenges and optimize laboratory protocols to improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with scientists across multiple disciplines to support research objectives and project milestones.
  • Contribute to scientific publications, technical reports, grant applications, and conference presentations.
  • Mentor and train junior scientists, research associates, and students on laboratory techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Demonstrated laboratory experience in molecular biology research.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology methodologies, including PCR, qPCR, cloning, nucleic acid purification, and gene expression analysis.
  • Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, sequencing data analysis, and genomic workflows is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with sequencing platforms, bioinformatics tools, and genomic data analysis pipelines.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate scientific findings.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Haven, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
