Overview
Histotechnologist - Histology Tech travel assignment in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Start date 08/18/2026 for 13 weeks. Earn $2,139-$2,258 per week with guaranteed 38 hours per week. Day shift, 8 hours, Monday through Friday; no weekends or holidays. This is a hospital setting within a travel temporary assignment.

Responsibilities
- Perform histological procedures to prepare surgical specimens for diagnostic pathology.
- Process, embed, cut, stain (H&E), and cover slip tissue specimens for microscopy.
- Prepare frozen sections and perform a range of special histochemical procedures as needed.
- Maintain quality control and adhere to established histology policies and procedures.
- Accurately document processes and results; operate and maintain histology equipment.
- Utilize laboratory information systems and basic computer skills to track specimens and results.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a one-year accredited histology program.
- Certification: Certificate in Histology (Histotechnician or Histotechnologist) required; ASCP registration required.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of histology experience; strong knowledge of surgical and autopsy pathology; embedding, sectioning, staining, and cover slipping.
- Skills: Proficiency in H&E staining, tissue embedding, mounting, and preparation of frozen sections; familiarity with histochemical procedures; basic computer skills.
- Work setting: Ability to work effectively in a hospital-based histology department; good attention to detail and teamwork.
