Job description

Job Title: Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician
Location: Nipton, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 3–6 Months (possible temp to perm)
Pay Rate: $65.21 per hour on W2
Schedule: 4 days/week (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Days Off: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Overtime: Available
 
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician to support maintenance operations at a solar thermal power facility. The technician will be temporarily embedded within the maintenance department and will report directly to the I&C Supervisor.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and maintain transmitters, switches, control valves, and low-voltage systems
  • Diagnose and resolve instrumentation and control system issues
  • Support maintenance activities for plant instrumentation and control equipment
  • Follow site safety procedures and maintenance protocols
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure reliable plant operations
Required Qualifications
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial instrumentation and control systems
  • Strong knowledge of transmitters, switches, control valves, and low-voltage systems
  • Ability to work in an industrial or power generation environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Rotork electric actuators (strongly preferred)
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience (nice to have but not required)
Additional Information
  • Technicians will be embedded within the maintenance department
  • Tools and PPE will be provided
  • Onsite training will be provided covering company policies, safety guidelines, and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures
