Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a Patient Service Representative for a contract opportunity in San Diego, CA. This in-person role is ideal for a customer-focused healthcare administrative professional who enjoys creating a positive patient experience from the first point of contact through check-in, scheduling, billing support, and follow-up.
The Patient Service Representative will support a busy medical office environment by greeting patients, answering high call volumes, verifying insurance information, managing patient records, and helping maintain smooth patient flow. This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative healthcare team where accuracy, professionalism, compassion, and strong communication are valued every day.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, verify registration information, collect required forms, obtain signatures, and maintain accurate patient records.
- Answer a high volume of incoming and internal calls from patients and referring providers while resolving inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Schedule walk-in appointments, follow up on missed appointments, manage outreach calls, and support Medicare wellness visit scheduling and referral-related tasks.
- Verify insurance, personal, and health information, scan insurance cards and IDs, and protect patient information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Collect co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and prior balances while explaining payment policies, billing procedures, and patient financial responsibility.
- Monitor patient flow, manage patient portal messages, support lobby organization, and coordinate with back office staff to ensure a professional and efficient patient experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $24.00 to $25.00 per hour.
