Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair bowling pinsetters, automatic scorers, foul units, and other lane equipment
  • Perform lane maintenance in accordance with company procedures including stripping, oiling, dusting, mopping, and maintaining approaches.
  • Perform Approach Patrols during each shift to identify potential hazards and log findings.
  • Respond promptly to machine calls and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Develop temporary solutions to equipment problems until permanent repairs can be completed.
  • Maintain and repair equipment throughout the center including vending machines, kitchen equipment, and lounge equipment.
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot amusement equipment such as arcade games, laser tag equipment, escape room systems, and other attractions.
  • Assist with training and supervision of the pit crew by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring work is completed properly.
  • Communicate with the Facilities Manager and District Mechanic when applicable to keep them informed of equipment issues or concerns.
  • Maintain an organized and safe machine area and follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform light building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and general upkeep.
  • Perform basic HVAC maintenance including changing air filters and cleaning coils as needed.
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties when needed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Serve as backup support in the pro shop when needed by assisting guests with ball work including fitting, drilling, plugging, and general assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two or more years of mechanical or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Brunswick or AMF bowling equipment experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of lane maintenance procedures is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with the safe use of hand and power tools
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and a hands-on mechanical mindset.

Work Environment

This role takes place in a busy entertainment center environment. The noise level can be loud and may include music, arcade sounds, and lighting effects such as lasers and strobes.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work around noise generated by machinery. Hearing protection should be used when appropriate.
  • This position may require long hours and frequent evening or weekend work depending on business needs.
