Job description

A leading manufacturing facility in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a skilled TIG Welder / Fabricator for a 6-month temporary assignment in our Fab and Weld shop.

If you are an artisan who prides yourself on cosmetic, clean, and near-seamless welds on thin-gauge materials rather than heavy structural joints, we want to hear from you!

Pay and Schedule
  • Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 / hour (Depending on experience)

  • Position Type: Full-time, Temporary (Estimated contract duration: 180 Days)

  • Target Start Date: July 6, 2026

  • Shift: Day Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

  • Overtime: Highly active shop currently working 56 hours per week. Overtime can start as early as 5:00 AM or extend past 2:30 PM based on production demand.

Top Skills and Screening Requirements

Nota para el reclutamiento: Este puesto requiere un trabajo cosmético de alta precisión en materiales delgados. Los soldadores estructurales normalmente no se adaptan bien a este rol específico.

  • TIG / GTAW Experience: Previous TIG welding experience is a hard requirement and must be clearly shown on your resume.

  • Thin-Gauge Expertise: Previous experience welding sheet metal down to 20 gauge (.036") aluminum and/or stainless steel is highly preferred.

  • Finishing Capability: Must have the ability to perform your own grinding and finishing to deliver a clean, seamless look post-finish.

  • Availability: Must have immediate availability to start if selected.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical engineering drawings.

  • Perform fit-up, tack welding, GTAW (TIG) welding, grinding, and finishing operations on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

  • Weld thin-gauge sheet metal and fabricated assemblies down to .036" material thickness.

  • Perform spot welding, stud welding, and robotic welding operations as required.

  • Install PEM hardware, rivet nuts, inserts, studs, and perform secondary fabrication (drilling, tapping, countersinking).

  • Inspect completed work for dimensional and visual compliance.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated hands-on TIG welding experience (carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum).

  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Overhead crane experience is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Standard manufacturing shop environment (exposure to heat, fumes, moving parts, and loud noise levels; safety gear like steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required).

  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and perform finishing operations for extended periods.

  • Frequent lifting of materials and products up to 40 lbs.

Please note that there is a background check and a drug screening for the position.
