Job Summary/Description:

Ever wondered what it's actually like to be in the middle of a breaking news story? We're looking for a Newsroom Intern at WLBT who is ready to dive headfirst into the world of local journalism. You'll be right in the heart of Jackson, MS, learning how we tell stories that matter across TV, streaming, and social media. If you're curious, scrappy, and ready to see how the news is made from the inside out, we want to meet you.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Spend time with the reporters, producers, and photographers to see how a story is completed
- Help craft stories for our website and social platforms
- Head out on assignments, gather information, and conduct interviews
- Get hands-on experience with newsroom systems to help build rundowns and write scripts

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in a college/university (preferred Junior/Senior)
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Earning a degree in Journalism or Communications, with a desire to get hands-on experience in the broadcasting & digital field
