Position Summary:

To provide leadership, supervision and direction for Schweitzer programs. Responsible for all facets of activity programs including development, staff training & scheduling, oversight of safety protocols, and providing quality guest service through the management of customer relationships. Associated programs include hosted snowshoe hikes, village campfires, tubing, village ambassador program, zipline, climbing wall, trampoline thing, movies on the mountain, and others.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

Will contribute to the overall vision, direction and implementation of Activities and its programs by performing the following:

  • Oversee operation of Activity Center, a place to assist guests in preparing for their booked adventures, answering questions, & day-of check in.
  • Operate a sales system and train/ supervise staff on such.
  • Organize and maintain information systems and protocols.
  • Assist in the development and in maintaining the Activity Center budget and Tubing budget
  • Be financially accountable for all functions of Activities & Hermit's Hollow Tubing Center including adjusting labor according to business levels to match projected revenues.
  • Work with the VP Recreational Services to develop and implement programs for both summer and winter seasons that enhance the guest experience such as movies on the mountain, holiday caroling, and more.
  • Hire, train and oversee existing programs in a safe and accountable manner. Programs may include hosted huckleberry picking, zipline, trampoline thing, climbing wall, hosted snowshoeing, and snow tubing.
  • Hire, train and supervise lead/supervisor positions and their crews.
  • Oversight of annual zipline inspection and operating within regulations outlined by Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).
  • Create/ maintain relationships with Sandpoint Area Businesses as well as work with group sales to enhance group visits.
  • Communicate activities for all Schweitzer outlets through various means including collaborating with the marketing team.
  • In all areas of operation, conduct business with the highest levels of guest service and safety.

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications- Driver's license required, CPR/first aid required or willing to obtain

Technical- Windows-based computer programs including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams.

Physical Capabilities- Responsible for up to 2 hours of sedentary work and 6 hours of combined walking or standing activity per shift. Will lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds rarely. Worksite is 50% inside and 50% outside and is exposed to all moisture levels and temperatures. Hazards are ice and snow. Intermediate skiing preferred.

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required- Four year degree or equivalent preferred

Minimum time in related position- 2 years related recreation experience or programming preferred. Supervisory or management experience preferred. Cash handling and bookkeeping preferred.
