Job description

The Summer Camp Teacher supports the mission of the YMCA of CollierCounty, Inc., a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengtheningcommunity through Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
This position coordinates and conducts engaging literacy and/ormath-based activities aligned with Florida State Standards and CCPS curriculumguides. The Summer Camp Teacher meets daily with students in both whole-groupand small-group settings, using literacy/math-rich learning centers to promoteindividual growth and academic achievement. Instruction is thoughtfully alignedwith weekly camp themes to ensure an engaging and enriching summer experience.
Essential Functions
  • Plan and implement daily literacy and/or math instruction aligned with Florida State Standards and CCPS curriculum guides.
  • Facilitate whole-group and small-group instruction to support differentiated learning.
  • Integrate academic content into weekly camp themes and activities..
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supervise campers at all times and ensure their safety during all program activities.
  • Model YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Follow all YMCA policies, Department of Children and Families regulations, and safety procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Meet all Department of Children and Families (DCF) standards.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Degree in Elementary Education (required).
  • Background in literacy and/or math instruction (preferred).
  • Must meet the Association's background screening requirements.
