Job description
Job Title:Adjunct Teaching - School of Music - Music 160: Trumpet Instructor
Posting End Date: June 1, 2026
*NOTE: Last day to apply is Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 11:59pm (MST)
Position Start Date:September 1, 2026
Required Degree:Masters degree in Music, Trumpet Performance or related field.
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience:Five years experience teaching private trumpet lessons is required. Teaching on a collegiate level preferred.
Duties/Expectations:
- Teach weekly private trumpet lessons
- Fully vested in the Aims and Mission of BYU
- Direct weekly masterclass for trumpet students
- Coach chamber music groups
- Attend end-of-semester juries as a faculty adjudicator
- Oversee and attend pre-recital hearings and required junior and senior recitals
- Attend entrance auditions
- Excellent student mentoring skills
