Job description

Job Title:Adjunct Teaching - School of Music - Music 160: Trumpet Instructor

Posting End Date: June 1, 2026

*NOTE: Last day to apply is Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 11:59pm (MST)

Position Start Date:September 1, 2026

Required Degree:Masters degree in Music, Trumpet Performance or related field.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:Five years experience teaching private trumpet lessons is required. Teaching on a collegiate level preferred.

Duties/Expectations:

  • Teach weekly private trumpet lessons
  • Fully vested in the Aims and Mission of BYU
  • Direct weekly masterclass for trumpet students
  • Coach chamber music groups
  • Attend end-of-semester juries as a faculty adjudicator
  • Oversee and attend pre-recital hearings and required junior and senior recitals
  • Attend entrance auditions
  • Excellent student mentoring skills
