You will work on high-performance systems software, contributing to open-source technologies and scalable backend services.
The position combines low-level engineering expertise, distributed systems development, and ownership of critical infrastructure.
You will design solutions that support massive-scale data storage, retrieval, and reliability for a global AI ecosystem.
Working within a remote and highly autonomous environment, you will collaborate with talented engineers to solve complex technical challenges.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced systems engineer passionate about performance, scalability, and impactful open-source technology.

Accountabilities

You will contribute to the design, development, and operation of advanced storage systems while helping build reliable infrastructure at global scale. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance storage systems and backend infrastructure.
  • Build and improve low-level systems software supporting large-scale data storage and retrieval.
  • Contribute to open-source projects written in Rust and other technologies powering AI development workflows.
  • Develop meaningful features within storage architecture, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges related to distributed systems, data management, and infrastructure operations.
  • Design solutions that support massive volumes of machine learning models, datasets, and digital assets.
  • Operate production systems by improving monitoring, observability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues through debugging and distributed system analysis.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and product teams to deliver robust technical solutions.
  • Take ownership of projects from technical design through implementation, deployment, and optimization.
  • Work effectively in an asynchronous, remote environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Continuously improve engineering practices and contribute technical knowledge to the wider community.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced systems engineer with a strong background in distributed infrastructure, low-level programming, and scalable production systems. The required qualifications and skills include:

  • 8+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems, storage platforms, or networking infrastructure.
