Design real retail environments that move from concept through fabrication for some of the largest brands in North America.

Position Summary

The Retail Interior Designer supports the creative process by developing thoughtful, visually compelling design solutions for commercial and retail environments. This role has a strong emphasis on graphic design for branded spaces, including signage, environmental graphics and POP/POS messaging, alongside 3D visualization, space planning, and interior design. Working closely with designers, drafters, and project teams, this person helps bring branded environments to life from concept through fabrication.

This position is ideal for early-career to mid-level designers who want hands-on experience with real projects that move beyond concept and into fabrication and installation.


What You'll Do

  • Develop retail and commercial design concepts from initial direction through client presentations
  • Create 3D renderings and visualizations (SketchUp required; Illustrator and Photoshop essential)
  • Design layouts, fixtures, merchandising elements, POP/POS displays, signage systems, environmental graphics, and branded interior/exterior experiences
  • Create and refine signage and graphic design packages, including brand messaging, wayfinding concepts, promotional graphics, and presentation-ready visual assets
  • Specify materials, finishes, fixtures, and equipment appropriate to brand, budget, and environment
  • Prepare presentation drawings and design deliverables to company standards
  • Collaborate with architectural drafters on working drawings and documentation
  • Participate in client meetings, including discovery and design presentations
  • Design within defined budgets, scope, and schedules
  • Track progress and communicate status with the design team
  • Organize and maintain project files and documentation

Requirements

What We're Looking For


Required:

  • Proficiency in SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Demonstrated experience in graphic design for physical environments, especially signage, branded graphics, wayfinding, or POP/POS applications
  • Strong visual, spatial, and conceptual design skills demonstrated through a portfolio
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly through drawings, renderings, and presentations
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Environmental Design, or related field
  • 0-5 years of experience in retail, commercial, environmental, or graphic design, ideally with exposure to signage and branded environments
