Job Summary:Securiport LLC is a US company based in Reston, VA, that specializes in the design and implementation of passenger biometric recognition, immigration processing, and intelligent information reporting and management systems based on advanced technological solutions.Securiport provides a complete immigration processing solution and analytics to maintain border security. Services include technical analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of Securiport's software solutions, training, and technical support to the field operations.
The Technical Business Development Specialist bridges the gap between our engineering capabilities and the marketplace. This role is responsible for translating complex technical solutions into compelling, client-facing business development materials, including proposals, tenders, expressions of interest (EOIs), contracts, presentations, and letters, and for delivering those materials directly to clients through on-site presentations, including international engagements.


Working closely with technical teams and reporting directly to the COO, this individual will own and continuously improve our documentation ecosystem, ensuring all materials accurately reflect our latest technologies, application capabilities, patent portfolio, and approved language standards. The role is a critical enabler of revenue growth and competitive differentiation.


Key Responsibilities
Business Development Documentation

  • Author, update, and maintain a suite of business development assets including proposals, tenders, expressions of interest, contracts, presentations, and client letters.
  • Ensure all materials consistently reflect current technologies, product capabilities, patent counts, and corporate messaging.
  • Develop and manage a centralized content library and template framework, version-controlled and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to source accurate, up-to-date content and translate it into clear, persuasive business language.
  • Produce, maintain, and update video content and interactive materials (product demos, explainer videos, multimedia presentations) that support business development and client engagement activities.


Technical Translation & Content Strategy

  • Develop deep familiarity with the company's software products, technical architecture, and intellectual property to articulate differentiators compellingly.
  • Create narrative frameworks that position our technical solutions against client needs and competitive alternatives.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to capture innovation milestones and incorporate them proactively into relevant materials.


Process & Quality Improvement

  • Audit existing templates and documentation for accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment; lead remediation efforts.
  • Establish review cycles and governance processes to keep documentation current as the product and IP portfolio evolves.
  • Define and enforce documentation standards, style guides, and terminology glossaries across business development outputs.


Client Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the primary documentation resource for the Business Development team, reducing the burden on colleagues managing concurrent project responsibilities.
  • Liaise with legal, finance, and technical stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance with proposal and contract content.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members on best-practice documentation and proposal writing.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to clients, clearly communicating our technical capabilities, value propositions, and tailored solutions to diverse audiences ranging from procurement teams to C-suite executives.
  • Travel internationally as required to support business development activities, attend client meetings, and represent the company at relevant industry events and tender presentations.
  • Maintain a professional personal presentation at all times in accordance with company dress code guidelines, projecting a positive image of the organization in all client-facing and industry settings.


Qualifications & Experience
Required

  • Bilingual in French and English, with Spanish preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline (Business, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, pre-sales, bid management, or business development role within a technology or software environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate technical software solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record producing high-quality proposals, tenders, or RFP responses in competitive technology markets.
  • Experience delivering presentations to clients, including senior stakeholders and executive-level audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to support business development activities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills with meticulous attention to accuracy and tone.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables against tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build, update, and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), pricing schedules, financial trackers, and other commercial assets as required.


Preferred

  • Exposure software product documentation, IP/patent landscapes, or technical marketing content.
  • Experience with proposal management tools, CRM platforms, or content management systems.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles (Agile, SDLC) sufficient to engage credibly with engineering teams.
  • Background in bid writing, solution selling, or pre-sales engineering.
  • Additional language skills are advantageous given the international nature of the role.
