Description

St. Dominic Villa | An Illuminus Community Hazel Green, WI (10 minutes from Dubuque, IA)

Join a team where quality service, meaningful relationships, and a supportive work environment come together.

Nestled in the beautiful Driftless Region of southwest Wisconsin, St. Dominic Villa provides exceptional long-term skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation services for older adults. Our community offers a welcoming atmosphere, supportive leadership, and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for residents, visitors, and team members.

Are you a skilled maintenance professional who takes pride in troubleshooting problems, completing repairs, and ensuring facilities operate efficiently? We are seeking a Facilities Services Technician to support the maintenance and upkeep of our campus (inside and outside).  In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, respond to repair requests, maintain building systems and grounds, and help create a safe and welcoming environment for those we serve.

This hands-on position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, maintenance experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and able to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently and as part of a team.

The position is 32 hours per week and includes participation in an on-call rotation to support facility needs.

What You'll Do

As a Facility Services Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining safe, comfortable, and welcoming homes for our residents. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize work orders based on urgency and resident needs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance situations, including after-hours calls.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs, including replacing outlets, switches, fixtures, ballasts, bulbs, fuses, and related components.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs, including repairing leaks, faucets, toilets, drains, and related fixtures.
  • Complete painting, carpentry, drywall, masonry, and general repair projects.
  • Install, repair, and replace household appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, microwaves, washers, and dryers.
  • Repair and maintain doors, locks, hardware, closures, and related building components.
  • Replace ceiling tiles and perform other interior building repairs.
  • Clear drain and toilet blockages using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Assist with furniture and equipment moves, setups, and re-configurations.
  • Monitor trash and recycling areas and coordinate proper waste management.
  • Assist with routine testing and maintenance of fire, life safety, and emergency systems.
  • Respond to facility emergencies including power outages, water leaks, gas-related concerns, and elevator emergencies.
  • Assist with maintaining campus grounds and outdoor spaces, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, turf care, and seasonal property upkeep.
  • Assist with planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscape features to ensure a safe and attractive environment.
  • Support exterior property maintenance by monitoring grounds, sidewalks, parking areas, lighting, water features, and stormwater systems, and addressing cleanliness and safety concerns.
  • Assist with snow removal during scheduled shifts and when needed during emergencies.
  • Maintain a professional and positive relationship with residents, visitors, vendors, and team members.
  • Promote the organization's mission, vision, and values through excellent customer service.

Why Join Us?

  • Opportunity to make a direct impact on the quality of life of residents.
  • Varied and engaging work that combines maintenance expertise and resident interaction.
  • Supportive team environment.
  • Meaningful work in affordable housing and community service.

If you're a reliable maintenance professional who enjoys working with people, takes pride in quality work, and thrives in a hands-on environment, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help us create safe, comfortable homes for our residents.
