Duties
Help
- In addition, incumbent serves as Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) for the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF)and its geographic area of responsibility.
- Performs counseling, data collection, medical coordination, and procedural work related to Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) processing and Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL) reevaluations.
- Coordinates and resolves special interest or complex issues which are especially sensitive and involve possible precedent setting or policy impact. Prepares written findings for various internal/external interested parties.
- Represents the command at various conferences and planning sessions. Reviews and updates publications as required. Develops procedures to implement managed programs. Monitors trend changes.
- Serves as Supervisory Health System Specialist (PEBLO) providing technical and administrative supervision to civilian and military employees assigned to the organization.

- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may require the incumbent to complete a one year supervisory probationary period.
- This position is subject to TDY or business travel requirements to various locations. This may require travel via privately owned vehicles, commercial transport platforms, and/or military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
- Incumbent must successfully complete the 6I-F4/340-F3 Training and Certification Course within 180days of appointment and annually thereafter.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing various healthcare systems to monitor the healthcare delivery processes within a medical treatment facility (MTF), analyzing healthcare data to identify problems with the healthcare processes, and identifying and recommending solutions to improve the healthcare delivery processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, and Business Administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
