CWP Immunizing Nurse – Vaccination Initiative

Position Overview:

A leading healthcare organization is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to support a seasonal Vaccination Initiative in a retail healthcare setting. This patient-facing role involves administering CDC-recommended immunizations, conducting clinical assessments, educating patients, and providing safe, high-quality care during high-volume vaccination clinics.
 

Assignment Details:

  • Position: Registered Nurse – Immunization Nurse
  • Contract Duration: 08/23/2026 – 11/13/2026
  • Location: West Lafayette, Indiana
  • Schedule: Sunday – Saturday
  • Shift: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Hours:24 Hours/Week
  • Positions Available: 1

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer CDC-recommended vaccines including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, RSV, Tdap, Hepatitis A & B, Pneumococcal, Shingrix, HPV, Varicella, and other routine immunizations.
  • Perform patient assessments to determine vaccine eligibility and identify contraindications.
  • Review medical history, allergies, medications, and immunization records before vaccine administration.
  • Administer vaccines and medications according to established clinical protocols.
  • Educate patients regarding vaccine benefits, risks, side effects, and post-vaccination care.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions following immunizations and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and update immunization records.
  • Follow infection prevention, vaccine storage, cold-chain management, and safety protocols.
  • Support high-volume seasonal vaccination clinics while maintaining exceptional patient service.
  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization/vaccination experience.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
  • Strong medication administration and patient assessment skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable administering vaccines to pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Must not appear on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
  • High School Diploma or GED (verification required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous vaccination experience in retail, outpatient, occupational health, or community health settings.
  • Experience documenting within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Strong patient education and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Previous retail vaccination program experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be available to work the assigned schedule throughout the contract duration.
