Role Description

VouDuo is looking for an Engineering Software & Automation Intern to support software tools, automation workflows, CAD/NX customizations, technical demos, and engineering system deployments.

This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Huntington Beach, CA.

This role is a strong fit for someone with a mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, or engineering background who also enjoys software, scripting, automation, and solving technical problems. The intern will work on projects that support internal tools, customer-facing demos, installer automation, engineering workflows, and startup-focused technical solutions.

Daily work may include writing and debugging code, creating scripts, testing software tools, documenting technical procedures, modifying engineering workflows, supporting NX customization work, and helping improve the way engineering teams manage design and production data.

The intern will work closely with VouDuo’s engineering team to identify opportunities for automation, improve system efficiency, support proof-of-concept projects, and help prepare technical demonstrations for startup and engineering customers.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with building and testing engineering software tools
  • Write scripts and automation utilities for internal and customer-facing workflows
  • Support CAD/NX customization and engineering process automation
  • Help test and document software installers, deployment tools, and technical procedures
  • Research technical problems and apply findings to real-world engineering use cases
  • Support proof-of-concept projects for startup and engineering customers
  • Help prepare demos, examples, and technical materials for customer conversations
  • Work with engineering systems involving CAD, automation, databases, APIs, and Windows-based software environments
  • Document findings clearly so work can be repeated, tested, and improved
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Interest in both engineering and software
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, PowerShell, C#, JavaScript, or similar
  • Comfortable troubleshooting technical problems and reading error logs
  • Interest in CAD, automation, manufacturing, aerospace, hardware startups, or engineering software
  • Ability to research unfamiliar technical topics and learn new tools quickly
  • Strong attention to detail in testing, documentation, and technical work
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work in a small, hands-on team environment
  • Willingness to work on-site in Huntington Beach, CA
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with CAD tools such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design, assemblies, BOMs, or manufacturing workflows
  • Experience with Python, C#, PowerShell, SQL, or API integrations
