Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma and additional six (6) months of related advanced study or technical training.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the locksmith trade.

Licenses or Certifications
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.
  • Certification from an accepted Locksmith Association, i.e. American Locksmiths of America (ALOA), Society of Professional Locksmiths, Institutional Locksmiths' Association (ILA), Security Locksmith Association (SLA), or similar, or obtain within one (1) year of hire or promotion.
  • Manufacturer product training/certification, i.e., Schlage Primus, LenelS2 OnGuard, Assa Abloy, Best Keystone, Kaba, Ilco, or obtain within one (1) year of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains a registered and secured master key system for the City.
  • Maintains and monitors the access control systems. Schedules doors to electrically lock and unlock in accordance with City calendars through the software associated with the system, implements a lockdown override capability for any buildings deemed necessary.
  • Installs and maintains mechanical and electronic locking systems for the City, to include software applications and mechanical components, i.e., level lock sets, deadbolts, padlocks, door frames, doors, door closers, and panic devices.
  • Ensures security systems conform with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and other regulatory statutes or agencies.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
