Job description

Job Title: Salad Maker
Department: Food and Nutrition Services
Location: Canton-Potsdam Hospital 50 Leroy Street; Potsdam, NY
Hours Per Week: 24
Schedule: Three 8-Hour Shifts; Usually 7a-3p, every other weekend varying shifts

Job Profile Summary:
To prepare and dish up salads, desserts, and sandwiches for patients and employees. May assist with food service in Cafeteria
Responsibilities:
  • (50%) Washes, peels, and slices fruits and vegetables for salad and dessert preparation. Cooks pasta or other food items required in salad recipes.
  • (10%) Properly reads production sheet in order to calculate the amount of food to prepare.
  • (10%) Properly stores prepared food and leftovers, using leftovers to minimize waste.
  • (10%) Prepares and attractive product, keeping salad bar well stocked during meal service.
  • (10%) Prepares and labels modified diet foods and foods for restricted diets.
  • (10%) May serve food in the Cafeteria during lunch hours, as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 year of similar food service experience in institutional setting
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Secondary culinary education, or BOCES training in culinary arts
  • ServSafe Certification

PAY RANGE:
$18.29 - $25.25
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
