Job Title: Paint Prep Technician
Job Description

This position involves working with the paint department to prepare metal parts for painting, ensuring surfaces are properly sanded, masked, and handled. The role also includes painting finished products before they are shipped to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces to be coated by using power grinders and sanders to remove rust, scale, and weld splatter.
  • Prepare parts for painting by hanging items on racks and placing large items on carts or fixtures.
  • Move items to drying areas and prep parts for further painting or assembly.
  • Wash and mask areas that are not to be painted.
  • Mix polyurethane and epoxy coating materials with reducers, thinners, and hardeners to correct ratios.

  • Experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Skill in grinding techniques.
