Job description

Title: Electrical Revit Designer
 Location: 100% Remote
 Hire Type: Contract; Contract to Hire
 Compensation: Depends on experience, multiple Openings at all levels. $35/hr to $70/hr

Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Designer to support the development of electrical deliverables for building and industrial projects. This position focuses on producing high-quality design packages using 2D and 3D drafting tools while supporting project teams through design execution, coordination, and revisions.

Job Duties: 

  • Create electrical design and drafting deliverables for commercial and industrial facilities using 2D and 3D design platforms (examples include SmartPlant, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
  • Develop and modify a wide range of electrical documentation, which may include:
    • Power distribution drawings and one-line diagrams
    • Electrical schematics and circuiting documentation
    • Raceway routing and conduit layout
    • Equipment and electrical room layouts
    • Cable schedules, sizing support, and cable management plans
    • Grounding/bonding plans and lighting layouts
    • Lightning protection concepts and related details
  • Apply applicable electrical codes, standards, and best practices to complete assignments with minimal oversight.

 

Qualifications: 

  •  Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field plus 4+ years of electrical or I&C design/drafting experience (2D/3D).
    • Alternative: High School diploma (or equivalent) plus 8+ years of relevant design/drafting experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (including AutoCAD Electrical), Revit, MicroStation, or comparable design tools.
  • Experience producing electrical deliverables such as P&IDs, one-lines, panel layouts, electrical plans, and equipment drawings.
  • Ability to communicate clearly through drawings, documentation, and collaboration with project teams.
  • Comfortable coordinating with cross-functional disciplines to resolve questions and improve design clarity.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards such as NEC and applicable ANSI/IEEE guidelines.
  • Experience supporting construction-driven projects is a plus (Design-Build, EPC, industrial construction coordination, etc.).
