About the Position: Under supervision of the Chief, Operations Division, serves as Operations Project Manager for the Upper Wabash Project Office and Business Line Manager for the District's Flood Risk Management, Recreation, and Environmental Stewardship Programs at District operating projects, and planning/execution of District's Natural Resources Management Programs. Determines requirements for the Operations and Maintenance functions at 3 dam and reservoir operating projects.Qualifications:

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Natural Resources Management Specialist:A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes: experience in a senior or lead position that provides work experience at a multiple-use lake office; coordinating flood risk management, recreational and natural resource management activities at a multiple-use lake project; developing budgets, administering contracts, providing leadership, guidance and oversight to subordinates to ensure mission accomplishment and compliance with directives, regulations and policies, and emergency operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
