Remote Web3 Developer information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Web3 Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Web3 Developer, you need strong programming skills in languages like Solidity or Rust, a solid understanding of blockchain technology, and experience with smart contract development. Familiarity with decentralized application (dApp) frameworks, version control systems like Git, and blockchain platforms such as Ethereum or Polkadot is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and effective remote communication skills set outstanding candidates apart. These abilities are crucial for building secure, innovative blockchain solutions and collaborating effectively in distributed teams.

What are some common challenges a Remote Web3 Developer might face, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Web3 Developers often navigate rapidly evolving technologies and decentralized platforms, which can present unique challenges such as integrating with various blockchains, ensuring security in smart contracts, and keeping pace with frequent updates. Collaboration can also be complex since teams are often distributed globally and may work asynchronously. To address these challenges, developers can participate in regular virtual stand-ups, utilize collaborative tools like GitHub and Slack, and commit to continuous learning through online courses and community forums. Establishing clear communication channels and documenting processes also help maintain project coherence and security standards.

What is a Remote Web3 Developer?

A Remote Web3 Developer is a software engineer who specializes in building decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts that interact with blockchain technologies, all while working from a remote location. Their work often involves using programming languages like Solidity, JavaScript, or Rust, and frameworks such as Ethereum, Polkadot, or Solana. Remote Web3 Developers collaborate with global teams to create, test, and deploy blockchain-based solutions for various industries, including finance, gaming, and supply chain. With the rise of decentralized technologies, this role is in high demand and often offers flexible work arrangements. They must also stay updated on the rapidly evolving blockchain ecosystem.

What is the difference between Remote Web3 Developer vs Blockchain Developer?

AspectRemote Web3 DeveloperBlockchain Developer
CredentialsKnowledge of blockchain tech, smart contracts, SoliditySimilar credentials, often with blockchain certifications
Work EnvironmentRemote, collaborative teams, blockchain projectsRemote or onsite, focused on blockchain infrastructure
Industry UsageUsed in decentralized apps, DeFi, NFTsUsed in blockchain protocol development, security
Search IntentLooking for blockchain development roles with remote optionsSeeking blockchain-specific roles, often more technical

Remote Web3 Developers focus on building decentralized applications and smart contracts across various blockchain platforms, often working remotely. Blockchain Developers may work on core protocol development or security aspects, with overlapping skills but sometimes more technical or infrastructure-oriented. Both roles require blockchain knowledge, but Remote Web3 Developers typically emphasize application development and user-facing projects.

Job description

At Aztec, our goal is to add privacy to Ethereum. In the current public blockchain paradigm, users and entities unknowingly broadcast data in the public, compromising privacy and security to get trustlessness. Not only are unencrypted blockchains inherently privacy-exposing, they require significant redundancy to compute and verify the legitimacy of transactions.

Implementing scalable encryption in a public blockchain paradigm requires cutting-edge math and engineering. Thankfully, our team of scientists and engineers invented Plonk, the industry-standard zkSNARK, and Noir, the universal language of zero knowledge. Now, we're building a first of its kind Layer 2 with private smart contracts.

This requires new cryptographic primitives, a zero-knowledge DSL for writing contracts, a privacy-friendly execution environment, a carefully designed set of circuits that prove the validity of the chain to L1, a decentralized block-building and proving mechanism, and a top-tier user and developer experience. And it's now time to bring it to market. We've raised $125 million from industry-leading investors including a16z crypto, Paradigm, Variant, Consensys, and a_capital, and we're growing quickly.

Role focus: We are seeking a talented Social Media Manager who brings a strong ownership mindset, can lead social strategy end-to-end, and effectively manage and pivot across multiple high-visibility campaigns and priorities. You bring a deep understanding of Web3, blockchain, privacy, and crypto Twitter trends, and will craft and execute social media strategies that elevate our brand, grow our community, and engage audiences across X, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Please note that this role is based in the US: What You'll Do: Create and implement comprehensive social media strategies tailored to Web3 retail audiences and privacy maxis.

Align campaigns with the technical roadmap and overarching marketing goals. Develop engaging and original content in the form of short-form copy, video shorts, polls, and more, leveraging updated algorithms and best practices. Excited to experiment with trends and new types of content, with an outgoing, on-camera personality that embraces social moments on screen.

Foster meaningful interactions with community members and followers, responding to DM's daily. Manage social media agencie(s) to support new follower growth and engagement across-platforms. Enjoys diving deep into analytics and metrics to understand what's working, and can move quickly to iterate based on the data to amplify what's performing well.

Report on social media performance and audience insights to key stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to amplify content and messaging. Qualifications: Proven track record as a Social Media Manager, preferably with 3+ years in the blockchain or crypto sector.

Experience working with retail audiences in Web3 post token-launch. Strong understanding of Web3, privacy, blockchain, DeFi, NFTs, and the crypto ecosystem. Excellent communication skills with a flair for storytelling.

Creative and forward-thinking. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic start up environment.

Agency and contractor management experience is a plus. What we offer: Flexible and remote work environment 25 days holiday + bank holidays annually Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development. Quarterly offsite travel for collaboration Events and conference budget An opportunity to work at the cutting edge of blockchain and FinTech with a world class cryptography and engineering team Aztec Labs is an equal opportunity employer and we value creativity, diversity, and intellectual curiosity.

If you're passionate about leveraging your creative talents to make a real-world impact, and if you want to be part of a team that's shaping the future of digital privacy, then we would love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
