Job description

Your Opportunity

At PLACE, we're building a category-defining company at the intersection of real estate, technology, business services, and the consumer. As a profitable, hypergrowth startup on the path to an IPO, our standards are high, our team is scrappy, and our commitment is to execute the best work of our lives.

This is YOUR CHANCE to build the tools that power the most productive real estate teams in the country. As a Software Developer on the Brivity platform, you'll partner with the Senior Engineer, product leadership, and design to ship high-quality, scalable features across the full development lifecycle. If you write clean code, move fast without cutting corners, and get excited about using AI to make yourself a better developer, this is your PLACE.

Who Develops You: Senior Engineer

What You're Great At

You are a developer who takes pride in your craft. You write clean, well-documented code, take ownership of what you ship, and care about the end experience as much as the technical implementation. You are equally comfortable in a Figma file and a pull request, and you know how to translate a product requirement into a scalable solution without being told exactly how. You thrive in an Agile environment, communicate clearly with non-technical teammates, and you are always looking for a better, faster way to build - including leaning into AI coding tools as a genuine part of your workflow, not just a novelty.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain web applications and features for the Brivity platform using React, TypeScript, Ruby, and .NET - working across the full stack from frontend to backend.
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to scope, prioritize, and deliver features that real estate teams rely on every day.
  • Translate product requirements and Figma designs into high-quality, polished product experiences.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools including Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation while maintaining high standards for code quality.
  • Write clean, scalable, well-documented code following engineering best practices across the codebase.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests including unit, integration, and end-to-end coverage.
  • Debug issues, fix bugs, and continuously improve performance and reliability across the stack.
  • Identify and reduce technical debt, leaving the codebase better than you found it.
  • Participate in code reviews and actively contribute to raising engineering standards across the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, QA, backend engineering, and product teams to ship great work together.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to Agile processes including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation so the team moves faster over time.
  • Stay current with platform updates, tools, and best practices including emerging AI development tools.

What You Bring

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in frontend and/or full-stack web development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
  • Working knowledge of Ruby and/or .NET, or a demonstrated ability to pick up new languages quickly.
  • Experience with REST and/or GraphQL APIs and integrating frontend with backend services.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor in a professional development workflow.
  • Experience writing automated tests including unit, integration, or end-to-end coverage.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with product, design, and QA teams.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000/year depending on experience
