Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology.

Come be a part of what's next. The Role At Netflix, we're on a mission to entertain the world and redefine how stories are experienced. Beyond film and television, Netflix Games is creating new categories of experiences, offering members new ways to interact, engage, and play within the Netflix experience they already know and trust.

The Netflix Games Product Design team is searching for a visionary, systems-minded Staff Product Designer to help define the future of how members discover and engage with games on Netflix. This role operates at the intersection of product strategy, design leadership, and craft - shaping not just individual experiences, but the frameworks, principles, and patterns that scale across the platform. You'll partner with senior product, engineering, research, and design leaders to set the direction for discovery experiences across TV, Web, and Mobile.

This is a remote-friendly role (within the US, west coast preferred), with required onsite meetings in Los Gatos and Los Angeles for meaningful collaboration and team building. About Netflix Games and Our Vision for Discovery The Netflix Games team is on a mission to deliver games to millions of members across mobile, web, and TV. As we expand our games offering on televisions, discovery becomes critical: helping members find the right game at the right moment through smart merchandising, thoughtful design, and seamless integration across surfaces.

This role will be essential in setting the strategic direction for how members discover, learn about, and fall in love with games on Netflix; and setting design foundations that enable the team to scale that vision. What You Will Do Develop a strong, informed design point-of-view and unify the organization through a cohesive discovery vision, demonstrating strategic thinking and creative excellence across multiple business domains. Identify, define, and drive large-scale discovery initiatives and product features from concept through launch.

Be resilient and adaptive to shifting strategies/priorities and helping teams stay focused through change. Shape product objectives by identifying business needs and aligning your team's work with company strategy, accounting for complexities and uncertainties within the gaming and entertainment ecosystem. Own the end-to-end design process - from blue sky exploration to UX specs and quality UI designs - balancing polish with speed and execution.

Lead collaboration across disciplines (product, engineering, and design), ensuring seamless communication and facilitating impactful decision-making across cross-functional teams. Mentor and elevate other designers on the team, raising the collective bar for quality, process, and strategic thinking. Partner with insights, data science, and research to build a rigorous, evidence-based design practice - driving experimentation and evolving experiences based on member signals.

Contribute to and evolve the design system at a foundational level, ensuring discovery patterns scale across surfaces, locales, and platforms. What We're Looking For Proven Staff-Level Experience: 10+ years as a Product Designer (or equivalent), with a portfolio that demonstrates strategic design leadership, systems thinking, and exceptional craft on consumer-facing products at scale. Collaboration Leadership: A track record of operating at the staff/principal level - setting design principles, building trust with cross-team, influencing without authority, co-creating solutions and driving alignment across senior cross-functional partners.

Cross-Platform Expertise: Deep experience designing for TV, Web, and/or Mobile platforms, with a sophisticated understanding of cohesive cross-device experiences and their technical constraints. Strategic Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, ambiguous discovery and merchandising challenges within large-scale ecosystems - and to bring clarity and structure to undefined problem spaces. Curiosity and Thirst for Growth: exploring/utilizing new tools (including AI), methods, and patterns, and sharing what you learn to improve team practices and member experiences.

Communication and Influence: Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to build alignment at the executive level and bring diverse stakeholders along on a design journey. Craft Excellence: An exceptionally high bar for visual design, interaction quality, and user-centered thinking - paired with the ability to zoom out to strategy and zoom in to pixel-level detail. Even Better If You Have Deep familiarity with gaming, entertainment, or media merchandising design - and a genuine passion for games.

Experience building or significantly evolving design systems at scale, with a strong understanding of the downstream impact on workflow, localization, and accessibility. Experience designing for TV-specific interaction patterns (remote control navigation, focus management, 10-foot UI, etc.). Technical skills: Figma experience and working with established design systems

Experience with A/B testing and using data to inform design decisions is also advantageous. A history of mentoring senior designers and contributing to team culture, process, and craft standards. Comfort operating in a highly autonomous environment, driving work forward with minimal direction.

Why You'll Love This Role Empowered to Lead: You'll have the scope and autonomy to shape the future of games discovery at Netflix - not just execute on it. Collaborative Culture: Work alongside world-class designers, product leaders, and engineers on problems that matter, with the trust and freedom to drive meaningful impact. Top-Tier Benefits: Enjoy top-of-market compensation, flexible time off, and remote work options, balanced with opportunities for in-person collaboration.

Growth and Investment: We offer meaningful financial support for further education and professional development, in an inclusive environment where your leadership is valued and your work has real reach. Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.

To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $460,000.00 - $710,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.

Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off. See more details about our Benefits here. Netflix is a unique culture and environment.
