Job SummaryTYLin is seeking a Stormwater Engineering Desinger to join the Mid-Atlantic team. The Engineering Designer will support the design and implementation of innovative Stormwater, and climate resiliency infrastructure projects for the City of Richmond and other localities in Virginia. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Program Manager to manage the planning, design, and construction of these projects. Work may include the review of plans with permit applications submitted by engineers to the City of Richmond.Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and Engineering design and consulting oversight for complex assignments, including conditions assessments, project site visits, report preparation, hydraulic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, cost estimating.
  • Preparation of design and construction documents for wastewater and water facilities, climate resiliency projects, and conveyance/treatment projects.
  • Review of engineering designs, bid packages, RFPs, and Statements of Work prepared by others, as part of a program management role.
  • Active leadership in assignments as a member of a team, including peer mentorship of design and consulting staff.
  • Support management of grant writing and funding procurement for infrastructure and community projects.
  • Actively engage in business development and growth opportunities for new clients and projects/programs under the Water Sector, Infrastructure Equity Practice, and Water Advisory Practice.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • Education: minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: minimum 2+ years' experience in stormwater design/engineering - performing studies, design, and construction services for municipal clients.
  • Demonstrated experience developing designs and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.
  • VA DEQ Plan Reviewer certification required or the ability to obtain one within three months.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
