Cost Analyst
Location: Madison, Wisconsin (Partial Remote)
Employment Type: Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a Cost Analyst responsible for the implementation and execution of project controls for strategic construction projects. This role manages the scheduling and cost functions from development through close-out, including progress measurement, cost forecasting, and invoice reviews. The position is largely remote, requiring the ability to work independently, with occasional visits to the office and job sites.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a detailed project estimate and ongoing forecast.
  • Perform monthly accruals and contribute to journal entries.
  • Interface with project teams, corporate accounting, and finance on all project execution items.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on project controls and contractual terms.
  • Perform detailed schedule reviews and analysis to monitor compliance and progress.
  • Advise the project team on performance concerns and recommend solutions.
  • Interface with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure data accuracy.
  • Provide guidance on the use of the company's Document Management System (Unifier).

Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in business, technical, engineering, construction, project management, or a related area is required.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of work experience is required. This must include familiarity with forecasting, accruals, journal entries, utility accounting practices, and earned value.
Technical Skills: The ability to work independently is required as the position is largely remote.

Compensation & Benefits
A pay rate of $40.00 to $60.00 per hour is offered for this position.
