This means that in addition to being a great Infrastructure engineer an ideal candidate will need to be able to collaborate with others - both internal and external - to ensure that we are collectively able to deliver projects in support of Lineage's company goals.
This role will design, implement, and optimize Lineages global compute infrastructure, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability for our systems. Working in a team of engineers who collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and drive technical excellence in areas such as server architecture, cloud computing, and resource management. This position requires deep technical expertise, and a passion for solving complex computational challenges.
A successful candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established processes and procedures. While primarily responsible for technical design, the role also requires collaboration with other IT teams to ensure a stable and secure infrastructure environment.
Additionally, this position is expected to maintain documentation, and support security compliance efforts. The ability to work independently while escalating complex issues when necessary is critical to success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Deployment & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage, backup solutions and virtualization platforms.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve server and related issues to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Support: Provide guidance and hands-on support during escalations ensuring reliable and secure operations.
  • Problem Management: Work with service delivery teams to identify flaws in solutions, implement changes to resolve flaws as they are discovered.
  • Vendor Management: Hold IaaS and PaaS providers to account on their SLA and technical delivery.
  • Project Support: Contribute to infrastructure-related projects, including new deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Patch & Vulnerability Management: Ensure patching and vulnerability process are followed and ensure metrics are maintained.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of configurations, issues, and changes to datacenter components.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other IT teams, including Networking, Infrastructure Delivery, End User Computing, and Security, to ensure smooth integration and handover of solutions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and propose efficiency improvements to enhance infrastructure reliability and operational effectiveness.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Adhere to company policies, industry standards, and security best practices to maintain a secure and stable IT environment.

Education and Work Experience:
  • 7+ years in Server or Datacenter engineering, focusing on hands-on technical roles.
  • Technical certifications (MCSE, AWS Cloud Practitioner) are desirable.
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure environments, preferably in a global organization.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL principles related to incident, problem, and change management.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) for infrastructure health Checks and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to infrastructure security.
  • Scripting and automation skills is desirable especially experience with Infrastructure as Code

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of modern data centers and legacy infrastructure (servers, storage, networking devices)
  • Proficiency in system administration and troubleshooting techniques
  • Knowledge of data center monitoring tools and methodologies
  • Experience with data center best practices and industry standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel up to 25% on occasion as required
