Remote Sleep Coach information

How do you become a remote sleep coach?

To become a remote sleep coach, individuals typically complete specialized training or certification in sleep coaching, sleep science, or related fields. Developing strong communication skills, understanding sleep hygiene, and gaining experience through internships or mentorships can also be beneficial; many roles require a background in health, psychology, or coaching. Certification programs from reputable organizations can enhance credibility and job prospects in this field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote sleep coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Sleep Coach, you need a background in sleep science, health coaching, or a related field, often supported by relevant certifications such as Certified Sleep Science Coach (CSSC) or similar. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, sleep tracking apps, and digital communication tools is typically required. Excellent listening, motivational interviewing, and empathy skills help build trust and guide clients through personalized sleep improvement plans. These competencies ensure effective, client-centered support and measurable improvements in sleep health from a remote setting.

What is a remote sleep coach?

A remote sleep coach is a professional who helps individuals improve their sleep habits and address sleep-related issues through virtual consultations and support. They typically assess your sleep patterns, provide personalized advice, and teach techniques to promote better sleep, all through online platforms such as video calls, chat, or email. Remote sleep coaches often work with children, adults, or families and may coordinate with other healthcare providers if needed. Their goal is to help clients achieve healthier sleep routines and improve overall well-being from the comfort of their own homes.

What are some common challenges faced by remote sleep coaches when working with clients virtually?

As a remote sleep coach, one of the main challenges is effectively building trust and rapport with clients through virtual communication. Without in-person cues, it can be harder to interpret clients' emotions and troubleshoot subtle sleep-related issues. Additionally, clients may face distractions at home during sessions or have difficulty following through with recommendations without face-to-face accountability. Successful remote sleep coaches often use video calls, digital tracking tools, and clear follow-up strategies to enhance client engagement and ensure consistent progress.

Job description

Business Development Representative

Location: These roles will be work-from-home, with a preference for Salt Lake City, UT, and Denver, CO, as we build out hubs in these cities. As these hubs grow, we plan to have our teams operate on a hybrid in-office structure as we open office spaces in the future.

About WithCoverage:

WithCoverage replaces the traditional insurance brokerage with AI-supercharged risk management designed for the modern economy.

We partner with hundreds of high-growth, category-defining companies, including GoPuff, Eight Sleep, Bombas, Chomps, and Blank Street Coffee. Our clients span iconic consumer brands, hospitality leaders, GCs, advanced manufacturers, and next-generation defense contractors. They operate in complex risk environments and need a partner that can move at their speed.

Instead of a fragmented, manual brokerage stack, we have built a new category: elite risk advisors operating on top of proprietary technology. Our in-house Agency Management System gives our team and AI agents full visibility into policies, exposures, claims, billing, and commissions. This platform enables deep automation, better decisions, and a fundamentally higher standard of service.

WithCoverage was founded by JD Ross (co-founder of Opendoor) and Max Brenner (Bain, Compound). We have raised over $43M from leading investors including Sequoia, 8VC, Khosla Ventures and Crystal Venture Partners.

Our ambition is not to build a better brokerage. It is to redefine how risk is managed across the economy.

Why Join Us:

  • Grow Faster - We're scaling quickly, giving you significant opportunities to learn, lead, and shape your career and the company's future.
  • Work That Matters - We protect the world's most innovative brands: consumer icons, hospitality leaders, next-gen defense contractors, and US manufacturers.
  • Redefine an Industry - Insurance is one of the largest, slowest-moving markets. We rewrite the playbook with proprietary technology, automation, and AI.
  • Financial Rewards - We hire the best and invest in you. That means competitive comp, meaningful equity, and excellent benefits. We believe strongly in internal promotion and lay out a plan for everyone's career growth.

About The Role:

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), your primary responsibility is to drive top-of-funnel activity by booking calls with qualified prospects. You'll be the first voice many of our future clients hear, reaching out via cold calls to introduce WithCoverage and spark interest. This is a high-output, high-impact role where success is measured by conversations started and meetings set. You'll be equipped with a strong list of pre-qualified leads and supported by a collaborative growth team that's focused on results. High performers in this role will have the opportunity to advance into closing or managerial positions over time. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm EST (weekends off).

What You'll Do:

  • Make high-volume cold calls daily to pre-qualified prospects to schedule intro calls with potential clients.
  • Own the outreach process end-to-end, including script execution, objection handling, and call coordination with the Growth team.
  • Use quick, live research to find meaningful angles that connect with each prospect during calls.
  • Collaborate with team members to refine messaging, targeting strategies, and outreach best practices.
  • Participate in weekly reviews to track progress against meeting goals and improve performance.

Who You Are:

  • Confident, clear phone communicator: you enjoy being on the phone and know how to keep people engaged.
  • Prior experience in cold calling, outbound sales, or appointment setting is highly preferred.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Coachable, resilient, and eager to succeed in a performance-driven role.

For candidates based in the United States, the OTE pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $65,000 - $110,000/year. Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Total compensation for this position may also include equity, quota incentives (for sales roles), and employee benefits.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation that includes equity
  • Comprehensive benefit plans for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability
  • Pre-tax accounts (FSA, HSAs, dependent care FSAs, commuter savings)
  • Human Interest: 401(k) provider
  • Time Off: Flexible time off, sick leave, family and medical leave, major national holidays
  • A curated in-office employee experience, designed to foster community, team connections, and innovation
  • Collaborative, transparent, and fun culture
