Allyn International is in search of an Entry-Level Global Trade Compliance Specialist to grow within our Trade Department in our Fort Myers, FL location. What does a Global Trade Compliance Specialist do?
The Global Trade Compliance Specialist will support the import and export compliance needs of clients, such as answering broker requests, classifying items according to Harmonized Tariff, researching import and export requirements such as Partner Government Agency restrictions, coordinating timely shipment clearance, and auditing entries. The GTC Specialist will work together with a team and under the guidance of a Licensed Customs Broker to meet clients' needs while also ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
Position Details:
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Position/Classification: Full-Time; Exempt, Entry level
Compensation: $45,000-48,000 annually
Hours of Work: Regular business hours, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:
  • Manage client's customs brokers to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective entry of goods. Establish and monitor service providers' performance against clearly defined Key Performance Indicator's (KPI's)
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance in the following areas: Anti-boycott/Restrictive Trade Practices, export Control Classification, Export Licensing, Compliance training, Export Documentation, Tariff Classification, Customs Valuation, Duty Drawback, Reconciliation, Country of Origin Marking, Country of Origin Determination, Recordkeeping, Preference Programs/FTAs, and Customs Clearance
  • Ensure proper product tariff classification and valuation information
  • Generate shipping documents such as commercial invoice and packing list
  • Develop and maintain customized compliance programs and processes specific to client needs
  • Conduct audits to assess the export/import compliance of client and supporting operating entities Assist in determining and implementing corrective actions where necessary
  • Gather and provide detailed analysis and information which may financially impact sourcing decisions
  • Manage supplier contracts and interface with client suppliers
  • Identify cost savings opportunities from client data sources
  • Work with numerous ad hoc teams across the organization on a project-by-project basis
  • Continuously evaluate current processes and recommend relevant changes or improvements to increase efficiency/productivity
