Job Title: Senior SAP Basis Administrator
Department: Information Technology
FLSA: Exempt
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
Provide knowledge of SAP and the administration needs to accommodate technical planning, installation, and maintenance. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Accountable and Reports to (Job Title): IT Manager/Director
Positions that Report to you (Job Title): None
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND FREQUENCY:
  • Participate in small to large SAP implementations.
  • Propose and contribute to maintenance activities related to system operation and availability.
  • Propose and participate in system installation, upgrades and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Lead the creation of and contribute to technical documentation and diagrams.
  • Proposes and contribute to the evaluation of new technologies.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (These are considered occasional in nature)
  • Participates in off-hours on-call rotation.
  • Provides second level troubleshooting support and assistance to other admins and engineers.
  • Attends and is prepared to participate in department and company meetings.
  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This is a non-management position

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with business directly on gathering requirements, designing solutions and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrable superb technical ability to lead and execute multiple system admin tasks for SAP and be able to recommend strategies for solutions for the future
  • Building and maintaining up-to-date knowledge about company and industry trends and strategy, and advises customers on approaches to optimize business success
  • Advanced SAP administration concepts
  • Strong knowledge of ERP and SAP BASIS best practices, business processes and data structures
  • SAP BASIS experience is required
  • Change control procedures, including transport management skills and experience
  • Adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Writing technical documentation
  • Debugging, troubleshooting, and performing root cause analysis
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to effectively meet deadlines

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:
  • Associates Degree or higher plus 10+ years in information technology; or related experience.
  • 10+ years of BASIS Administration experience, preferably in Retail.

Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction. CONFIDENTIALITY:
Has access to confidential information including payroll, inventory costs, sales, accounts payable and receivable, pharmacy data, e-mail messages, and all data related to operations.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for company assets including maintenance of software solutions. No authority to make purchases or commitments.
