Job description

Frontend Engineer - TeachShare
About TeachShare
TeachShare is revolutionizing K-12 education for teachers with AI-powered curriculum creation tools. We're a fast-growing EdTech startup (surpassing revenue milestones, 400K+ teachers) backed by top education investors. Our platform helps teachers create differentiated, standards-aligned instructional materials in minutes instead of hours.
We're a small, high-impact-driven team of 4 full-time employees based in NYC, moving fast and shipping features that reach tens of thousands of teachers daily.
The Role
We're looking for a meticulous frontend engineer who can translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive interfaces. You'll work directly with our designer (ex-CIA, Harvard) to rapidly iterate on growth experiments and ship features that directly impact teacher retention and activation.
This isn't a typical frontend role - you'll own the entire frontend experience for a platform with 60%+ week-4 retention and be responsible for A/B testing experiments that move core metrics.
What You'll Do
  • Design Implementation: Convert Figma designs to production code with extreme attention to detail (10px vs 15px matters)
  • Growth Experiments: Ship A/B tests through PostHog, implement feature flags, and iterate based on data
  • Rapid Iteration: Work in tight cycles with our designer - design in morning, ship by EOD
  • Component Development: Build and maintain our design system using Solid.js and Tailwind
  • Performance: Ensure fast, responsive experiences across devices (many teachers use older Chromebooks)
Tech Stack
  • Frontend: Solid.js (React alternative), Tailwind CSS, TypeScript
  • State Management: Zustand (preferred), React Query for data fetching
  • Tools: PostHog (analytics/A/B testing), Figma, PNPM monorepo
  • Infrastructure: Vercel, NEON DB with branching
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
  • Strong frontend fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript)
  • Experience with React or similar frameworks (we use Solid.js - easy to learn)
  • Obsessive attention to design details and spacing
  • Ability to work independently and ship fast
  • Comfortable with rapid iteration and experimentation
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with Solid.js, Zustand, or similar modern tools
  • A/B testing and growth experimentation background
  • Design system development experience
  • Education or impact-focused product experience
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards
Why TeachShare?
  • Impact: Your work directly helps teachers save 10+ hours/week and reach struggling students
  • Ownership: Be one of the first frontend engineers - shape our entire user experience
  • Growth: 100% week-over-week growth
  • Speed: Ship features to production daily, see immediate user feedback
  • Team: Work with exceptional engineers (ex-NASA ML, UC Berkeley dropouts, published researchers, youngest CS grad at Rutgers)
  • Mission: Help 10% of US teachers (already at 400K users) create better learning experiences
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $100-180K cash, and meaningful equity (flexible for exceptional candidates)
  • Equity: Competitive early-stage equity package
  • Location: NYC-based (in-person preferred) or remote with quarterly NYC visits
  • Work Style: Async-first, results-oriented, minimal meetings
  • Growth: Clear path to senior/lead roles as we scale
Our Culture
We're a talent-dense team that values:
  • Velocity over perfection: Ship fast, iterate based on data
  • User obsession: Sub-3 minute support response times, we read every piece of feedback
  • Autonomy: Own your work end-to-end, minimal hand-holding
  • Impact: We're here to solve real problems for teachers, not just build cool tech

Timeline: We move fast - expect to hear back within 24 hours if there's a fit.
