Hours/Work Schedule: College Business Hours are 8:30am -4:30pm. Schedule may vary based on demand. This position works primarily at the Cumberland Campus. Hybrid Work: This position is eligible for 2 days of remote work, after the 6-month probationary period
Working Conditions: This is a hybrid position, primarily working on the Cumberland MD campus. This position works indoors in a typical office, classroom, or clinic setting. Travel is required to other campuses, educational sites, off campus meetings, and training workshops and seminars. Must reside in one of the following states: Maryland, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia. This is due to applicable employment laws and reciprocity agreements with those states.
Physical Duties: Part of the job is sedentary, periods of light to medium work may be required during the clinical hours. Clinical work involves performing physical tasks requiring physical energy without jeopardy to patient and student safety, e.g., bending, lifting, turning, and ambulating adult patients. Perform fine movements and be able to manipulate instruments and equipment. Have auditory ability sufficient to monitor and assess health needs. Have visual ability sufficient for observation and assessment necessary for patient care. Other physical requirements include: • Oral and written communication, the ability to receive, understand and communicate verbal and written instruction and communicate in the English language • Visual acuity appropriate for a normal clerical-type position • Hearing • Mental Acuity • Fingering • Grasping • Speaking • Talking • Repetitive Motion

Basic Statement of Responsibilities
The Online LPN-RN Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for assisting the online nursing students meet their clinical placement needs. Assists with obtaining new clinical contracts, approving preceptors, as well as making sure all prehospital requirements are met. Notifies students and online faculty of contract and preceptor approvals. Maintains appropriate documentation of all clinical placements. This job description is an addendum to the Faculty Job Description.
Essential Functions
Clinical Placement Coordinator Duties:
- Responsible for verifying clinical requirements are in place prior to students attending clinical.
- Verify current online nursing students are in compliance with ACM Nursing Program requirements (Learning Harbor and Viewpoint, clinical facility placement programs as necessary) prior to clinical each semester. Advises director, faculty and students of pertinent information.
- Receives Clinical Agency Requests from the online students and assures a current clinical contract is in place.
- Works cooperatively with students, clinical agency representatives and ACM administration in the process of securing a clinical contract, if needed. Follows ACM's process for securing a clinical contract and Certificate of Insurance.
- Verify clinical contracts are received prior to clinical experience for the online students in the nursing program and on file in the nursing department.
- Maintains current clinical contract files in the nursing office and assists with maintenance of a current master list of contracts in nursing. Works with the Assistant to the Directors and Instructional Affairs to keep the IA list of contracts up to date.
- Reviews contract list annually with the Assistant to the Directors, in June for contracts needing renewal.
- Works with students and clinical agency representatives in the process of securing clinical preceptors. Reviews and approves preceptors. Notifies the student and preceptor, once approved.
- Provides preceptors with access to the preceptor website and other resources. Secures "Preceptor Orientation Acknowledgement Form" form preceptor to verify access to the website. Keeps on file with preceptor forms.
- Communicates with course faculty the status of the students prior to beginning clinical each semester, as follows:
- Clinical site and address
- Preceptor's name and credentials
- Preceptor's email address
- Completion of Background Check, Health Requirements, CPR, etc. in ViewPoint
- Completion of Drug Screen
- Completion of prehospital training (ex- Learning Harbor)
- Maintains a file of approved preceptors containing their CV and approval form indicating date and clinical area approved.
Other Faculty Duties:
- Faculty are required to teach 30 credits for Fall and Spring semesters and 12-month faculty are required to teach 3 credits in the summer. The teaching responsibility for this position is three credits each for the Fall and Spring semesters and 3 credits for summer. Primary teaching responsibility is the Online Nursing Transitions course. The clinical coordination hours will fulfill the other credit requirements.
- Other tasks as appropriate that may be assigned by the Director.
Education, Experience, and Specialized Skills
- MSN with experience in the clinical setting with students.
- Registered Nurse, licensed or eligible for licensure in Maryland.
- Two years of recent clinical experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Organizational skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Broad knowledge base of nursing theory and clinical skills
- Knowledge of educational and instructional technologies (Learning Harbor, ViewPoint, etc).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Interpersonal relations, organizational skills and time management skills are necessary
- Knowledge of statistics and basic algebraic function and concepts are necessary.
