Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Sourcing Recruiter will provide specialized sourcing expertise for high-quality prospects against passive, niche, or hard-to-find candidate profiles or specific requisitions using sophisticated recruiting techniques such as social media, online job platforms, direct sourcing, competitive research, networking at professional events, and utilizing other recruiting and sourcing techniques. The Sourcing Recruiter will partner with hiring leaders / customers, HR business partners, and other recruiters throughout the company to deliver candidate lead generation.

This position is a remote position, strong preference for candidates who reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or Washington D.C. and have skilled trades sourcing experience.  This position may require occasional travel to support recruitment events or training.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will screen, arrange for, and prepare candidates for interviews, and offer pre-close information and communication.
  • Develop and leverage market intelligence to target active and passive candidates for current and future needs through wide range of internet and job board sourcing, resume mining, targeting special interest groups, competitive intelligence, key industries, and companies.
  • Uncover talent utilizing web sourcing, Boolean search, database scrubbing, professional and social media networking, referrals, relationship building/management, event lists, social media campaigns, sourcing tools, predictive sourcing tactics and industry research which lead to development of highly skilled talent communities.
  • Works to continually improve and innovate our attraction methods and candidate experience through creativity and best practices in sourcing using CRM, ATS, social communities of practice, and extensive sourcing tools available to our sourcing team members.
  • Identify and target qualified candidates for fit against the defined competencies and markets for the roles/projects assigned, producing a robust and talented candidate pipeline. Ensures job requirements and expectations are clearly understood, and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria.
  • Collaborate with TA leadership and the marketing department to define content goals for recruitment needs to include special events, campaigns, and recruitment content.
  • Coordinate, support, attend, and/or assist with internal and external (national and regional) recruitment events to include job fairs, school tours, information sessions, etc.
  • Serve as subject matter expert within the sourcing function, dives deep into our recruiting data to understand trends and opportunities and the pulse of the industry.
  • Focus on results and provide responsive and timely follow-up to both candidates and hiring team for assigned business areas.
  • Utilize, update, and maintain applicant tracking system.
  • Perform regular and predictable work remotely and perform work during scheduled and/or agreed upon times.
  • Participate in special projects/recruiting initiatives.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned related to talent acquisition.
  • Occasional travel may be required.


Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, marketing, graphic design, communications, or similar field preferred; or related sourcing recruitment experience.
  • 5+ years previous technical recruitment/sourcing experience with a focus on passive candidate generation. Strong preference to candidates with relative industrial recruiting experience.
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills – i.e. with MS Office, Google Suites, applicant tracking systems, recruitment internet resources, search engines, various social media platforms for recruitment such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Possess strong analytic skills with ability to create, measure, and scale the right workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team. Create and maintain strategic recruiting plans with clearly defined objectives, desired outcomes, and a calendar of events.
  • Must have proven success collaborating with hiring managers and recruiting colleagues, exhibiting creativity with candidate search & developing networks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Research skills to map our markets and generate candidate names and profiles.
  • Ability to proactively network and establish effective working relationships, continually seek new sourcing options, develop prospects into candidates, and develop creative approaches to deliver candidates to the right job.
  • Self-sufficient and able to work with little direct supervision in an extremely fast-paced and remote environment.
  • Demonstrates a keen eye for detail, is highly creative, an expert storyteller, and possesses excellent knowledge of recruitment trends.
  • Strong ability to source, screen, and generate interest for passive candidates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR/Recruiting licenses or certifications preferred: AIRS, HR, CIR.
  • Prior experience in a research capacity for candidate generation, including passive candidate techniques.
  • Proven experience building and cultivating long term relationships with prospective candidates.
  • Innovative, resourceful, and efficient when selecting sourcing strategies.
  • A background in high volume recruiting is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidence and professionalism when leading others through ambiguous and complex situations. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills is a plus.
  • Marketing and/or graphic design experience specific to recruitment is a plus.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This position is a full-time (40 hours / week) remote or hybrid position and most work will be performed in a home office setting. The Sourcing Recruiter will frequently use a computer, keyboard / mouse, cellular or office telephone, and regular business office equipment with extended periods working in a seated position. Occasional standing or walking; lifting up to ten pounds may be necessary.  Occasional overnight travel may be required.
